Mission
Africa has become a leading source of Christian missionaries to the United States of America. Small African communities send their best to support our spiritual development in a time when we desperately need it. Amagara Marungi (A Better Life) is a non profit organization that reciprocates by sending financial support to the villages and communities that send us their sons and daughters. They support our spiritual needs; we attempt to support their physical needs. Primary are the basic needs of the most vulnerable members of their communities: the poor, orphans, unborn, women, widows, and the elderly.

Who We Are
Amagara Marungi has its roots in 2020 as a reaction to the needs of elderly in Rubanda, Uganda severely impacted by Covid. Local families in Maine provided funding to buy food and essentials for their distant spiritual brothers and sisters in need.
In 2021 Amagara Marungi was established as a 501(c)(3) to better structure ongoing support of Uganda specifically and Africa more generally.
Missionaries sent from Africa are providing churches in Maine and the USA broadly with badly needed spiritual leadership. Amagara Marungi was formed to support the physical needs - health, food, education, etc. - of the communities from which the missionaries come.
Amagara Marungi consists of 100% of volunteer Board members and all funding goes directly to the mission. Minimal funding required for annual maintenance of the organization, websites, social media, and advertising is provided by donations from board members.
Your donations will be used 100% to support those who need it in Africa.
Ways We Help

Health Care
We have been blessed to be able to support the Health Care Center in Rubanda, Uganda. Through joint support with the Knights of Columbus, an ultrasound machine, generator, and associated supplies were purchased in 2021 that has already provided care for hundreds of individuals including mothers and their unborn children.
Occupational Education
The fledgling Mazzoldi Community College in Uganda was devastated by Covid. Formed to provide occupational education to at-risk young men and women, we were blessed to help get the school back on track through funds to provide food, plant gardens, and build their first classrooms.

Provision for those in Need
We've been blessed by the opportunity to provide for the most basic needs of the most vulnerable in Rubanda. Food and other basics have been supplied to elderly, widows, those in need during the dark times of Covid.
